Virtual Marketer CRM is open-source software. This page tells you which licence it is under, whose work it builds on, and how to obtain the source code.

Licence

The entire service is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 (AGPL-3.0-only).

The full licence text is available at gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0 and ships with the software as the file LICENSE.

Origin

Our modifications — in particular the independently developed integration of email and messaging accounts, single sign-on, and the adaptation to Virtual Marketer — are under the same licence: Copyright © 2026 SGS Virtual Marketer GmbH.

The original project uses an open-core model with a commercially licensed component. That component has been removed in full from our version and replaced with independently written code under the AGPL. No third-party commercially licensed software is operated or distributed here.

Your right to the source code

Section 13 of the AGPL gives everyone who uses this software over a network the right to the complete source code of the running version, free of charge.

We meet that obligation directly in the application. The link below gives you an archive of exactly the revision running on crm.virtual-marketer.de, including our modifications.

Download the source code

The archive contains no configuration files holding credentials. That is not a restriction of your rights: operational secrets such as passwords and keys are not part of the source code within the meaning of the licence.

If the link does not work for you, an informal message to info@virtual-marketer.de is enough and we will provide the archive by other means.

What the licence permits

You may use, study, modify and redistribute this software, including commercially. The condition: if you distribute a modified version or operate it as a network service, you must give your users the same access to the source code and use the same licence.

Our terms of use do not restrict these rights. They govern our hosted offering, not the licence to the software.

Third-party components

The software uses numerous third-party open-source libraries under their respective licences, mostly MIT, Apache 2.0 and BSD. The complete list with versions and licences is contained in the source code in package.json and yarn.lock.

Trademarks

"Virtual Marketer" is a designation of SGS Virtual Marketer GmbH. The AGPL grants no trademark rights. If you redistribute or operate this software, please remove our name and logo. The same applies to the trademarks of the original project.
